By Jessica BlumbergThe financial services industry is a key player in the global economic recovery, and the data-driven economy that it has created has made it possible to make more informed decisions about the economy.
As such, it has been important to understand and protect the privacy of individuals.
The PPPL database is the result of this effort, which is being rolled out across the financial services sector to better track trends and provide insight to financial professionals.
The new PPP Loan Database provides a unique insight into borrowers’ loan histories and allows banks and other lenders to track trends across different loan categories.
This update is the latest effort to provide banks and lenders with better information about the financial conditions of individuals, and will enable the industry to better understand the types of loans borrowers are taking on and the types that might be more suitable for specific borrowers.
The data will also allow lenders to better plan for the impact of new financial technology, as well as the ability to monitor trends over time.PPL is a joint venture between Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
The bank is a partner of the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Financial Stability Board.
